The Hudgens Center for Art & Learning awards the prestigious Hudgens Prize to one talented Georgia artist. The finalists for this cycle include not one, not two, but three Georgia State alumni vying for the coveted prize, one of the largest visual arts awards given to an individual artist in the nation. Alumni Shanequa Gay (M.F.A. ’19), Jessica Self (M.F.A. ’21) and Jamele Wright (B.A. ‘16) join the fourth finalist, Olu Amoda, in the 2023 Hudgens Prize Finalist exhibition (through October 15).
The purpose of the competition is to elevate and promote the arts and artists of Georgia while providing a transformational opportunity for the winning artist. The winner will be announced in the fall, providing the recipient with a cash award of $50,000 and a solo exhibition.
