Rachel Ballard is an Atlanta-based artist, who works predominately in clay. She earned an MFA from Georgia State University in 2017 and recently served as the Project Coordinator of the Chastain Arts Center. She has been an invited artist-in-residence at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and the Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts. Her work has been supported by grants and fellowships from the North Carolina Arts Council, The Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts, and The Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design. She has recently been accepted into BURNAWAY’s Art Writers Mentorship Program, where she will refine her writing on contemporary craft, theory, and criticism.
