Nuni Lee
Lecturer/Visiting Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design- Biography
Nuni Lee is a practicing artist living in Atlanta. Nuni received a BFA in Painting from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and graduated from the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University with an MFA degree in Drawing and Painting, where she currently serves as a part-time art instructor. Her work revolves around a central figure, Good Girl, who is the reflection of the artist in an infantile form. She attempts to weave together her past, present, and future by layering her dreams, memories, and everyday life in her paintings. Nuni is the recipient of the 2017 Joseph Perrin Award and the Chandler Award at the Welch School of Art & Design. Nuni has exhibited at venues including the Margulies Collection at the Warehouse (Miami, FL), Olive Tjaden Gallery (Ithaca, NY), Welch School Gallery (Atlanta, GA), Callanwolde Gallery (Atlanta, GA), Mary S. Byrd Gallery (Augusta, GA), SOUP Experimental (Tallahassee, FL), A Different Path Gallery (Brockport, NY), Thomas Deans Fine Art Gallery (Atlanta, GA), Swan Coach House Gallery (Atlanta, GA), and Aqua Art Fair (Miami, FL).
