Deidra Dobbelmann
Director of Band Operations School of Music- Biography
Deidra Dobbelmann is the Director of Band Operations at Georgia State University. As a Technician with the Georgia State Colorguard since 2019, she is sincerely committed to the continued success of Georgia State Concert Bands, Athletic Bands, Colorguard, and Drumline. She received her bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University in Integrative Studies with Minors in Leadership Studies and Engagement Marketing.
Deidra was raised in Cumming, GA and graduated from Forsyth Central High School, where she participated in the Flash of Crimson Marching Band and Winterguard (2005-2009). Deidra was a Captain at Aureus Winterguard (2010-2014) and has performed with the Georgia Tech Colorguard (2010-2011), and Paramount Winterguard (2017, 2019, 2021) where she received the Directors Award in 2019. She was a Co-Director for the Brookwood High School Colorguard, who recently performed in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade; she has choreographed for the University of Georgia Flagline; and she has presided as the Colorguard Coordinator for the University of Georgia’s Summer Marching Band Camp. Deidra has also worked with and choreographed for Wesleyan School, Decatur High School, Forsyth Central High School, and West Forsyth High School.
Deidra currently resides in Duluth, GA with her partner, Jamie, and their chocolate lab mix, Cooper.
