The Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design at Georgia State University presented its MFA Exhibition, “Fever Dreams,” for the 13th annual Aqua Art Miami fair in December (Dec. 6-10, 2017). This was the seventh consecutive year for the School––one of only a handful of academic institutions that have ever participated––to showcase an extraordinary breadth of work. The artists, all in their final year of the Georgia State MFA program, have backgrounds spanning four continents, and have exhibited their work both nationally and internationally.
The Aqua program was documented with an exhibition catalog designed by MFA graphic designer Valentina Caver, including artist Q&A’s and a featured essay authored by a respected art professional. This year’s invited guest writer and artist was Julian Hoeber, who visited the Atlanta campus and conducted studio visits with the participating ten MFA candidates: Amelia Carley, Tyler Cieplowski, Kelli Couch, Nuni Lee, Maryam Palizgir, Judy Parady, Aaron Putt, Kirstie Tepper, Yours Truly MF, and Vanessa Yvonne.
The Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design is part of the new College of the Arts.
