Georgia State University School of Music is the Professional Development Administrator for the annual Georgia Music Educator’s Association In-Service Conference held in Athens, GA. A Certificate of Attendance containing 2 Professional Learning Units is granted to professionals and educators who wish to receive Professional Development Certification based on registration and attendance of conference events. Individuals may choose the conference sessions, concerts, or division meetings that are best suited to their interests and content area. To receive a Certificate of Attendance for the GMEA In-Service Conference, each educator must either:
Pre-register online by Friday, January 3, 2020.The pre-registration fee is $25 for registrations and payments received by Friday, January 3, 2020. Both the registration form and payment must be received by the deadline to guarantee the $25 early registration fee.
Sign-in at the Professional Development desk during the GMEA In-Service Conference to confirm your attendance. The Professional Development desk will be open from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm on Thursday, January 23 and 9:00am – 12:00pm on Friday, January 24.
Register on-site at the Professional Development desk during the GMEA In-Service Conference between the hours of 9:00 am – 4:00 pm on Thursday, January 23 or 9:00am – 12:00pm on Friday, January 24. The on-site registration fee is $30, payable by cash, check, or credit card.
Please note that the Professional Development desk is separate from the GMEA registration desk.
Once you receive your Certificate in the mail, make a copy for your records and submit the original Certificate to your district’s Professional Development Office or Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA).
Individuals who pre-register will have their Certificate mailed to their preferred address by March 1, 2020.
Individuals who register on-site will have their Certificate mailed to their preferred address by April 1, 2020.
To replace a lost Professional Development Certificate or Professional Learning Unit Verification from previous years, please click the button below. Professional Development records are kept on file for five years from the date of the workshop or conference. There is a non-refundable processing fee for replacement documentation of $10.00 per certification requested.
