The Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and offers opportunities to shape culture through the practice and study of the arts. Our accomplished faculty trains students for creative work and scholarship through a rigorous curriculum in fine art, design, art history and art education. We offer an accessible and transformative education to one of nation’s most diverse student populations. Students may pursue graduate or undergraduate studies in nine disciplines: Art Education, Art History, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting and Printmaking, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Textiles and Sculpture.
We’re dedicated to educating the next generation of critically aware media makers, scholars, theatre practitioners and citizens. The school is the largest film and media program in Atlanta, the third largest media capital in America. It is also in the heart of a booming film and television industry, giving students access and experience to navigate the demands of a fast-changing and competitive film, media and theatre world.
The School of Music is to preserves, promotes and advances humanity’s rich and expanding tradition of artistic music-making through performance, composition, education and research in accordance with the urban and global initiatives of the university. The school enrolls about 450 students representing six countries and 21 states. About 360 students are in bachelor’s degree programs, 70 in master’s degree programs and the remainder in other programs, including a Ph.D. program in music education.
The Center for Educational Partnerships unites university music faculty and undergraduate/graduate music students with the greater education community in a collaboration that advances the role of music in school culture and prepares strong leaders to teach in diverse and interdependent contexts. Drawing on Atlanta’s unique community resources, the relationships created by the center fosters relevant and engaging music-making for all learners throughout their lives.
