Each year, one of the marquee opportunities for College of the Arts undergraduate students to showcase their research and creativity, both individually and collectively as a college, is the Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC). The conference, now in its14th year, drew more than 180 student presentations despite moving to a virtual format in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The entries were judged, evaluated and scored by faculty to determine award winners based on presentation type and category. Due to the at-distance circumstance, the event could not take place live, and students were allowed to record and upload their presentation and performances to a special website.
The College of the Arts was well-represented with students receiving 13 awards of recognition across the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design, School of Film, Media & Theatre and the School of Music.
