Georgia State University’s premier graduate jazz ensemble, the Johnny Mercer Jazz Combo, is set for a series of high-profile performances, including the upcoming Jazz Education Network Conference in January 2025. The Office of the Provost announced the 2024 Georgia State University Faculty Awards, which recognizes faculty achievement and excellence from across the university. Among this year’s cohort of esteemed faculty include two School of Music awardees, Professor Al Thrash for an Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award in the non-tenure track category, and Dr. Lara Dahl for an Exceptional Service Award.
