The School of Music Establishes the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee
The School of Music has established the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee to address systemic inequalities and biases with respect to programmed repertoire, faculty demographic and hiring practices, and overall academic curricula throughout the School of Music. In its first semester of work, the committee established four subcommittees charged with addressing Curriculum Inclusivity, Diverse Repertoire, Ethnic Ensembles, and Breaking the Racial Silence.
Best Wishes
The School of Music was sad to bid a fond farewell to Carroll Freeman and Kay Paschal Freeman who have retired from academia. We wish them the best in their new pursuits.
A search is currently underway for a new Professor of Practice in Opera Theater.
