The College of the Arts proudly spotlights exemplary students as they continue to hone their artistry and deepen their paths toward success. At the School of Music, meet third-year piano performance student Fernanda Miranda, an accomplished pianist who performed at concert halls across the globe with grace and determination. Hear from Fernanda as she talks about her journey, what prompted her to play the piano and navigating a personal challenge since childhood.
Fernanda discovered the piano at an early age. Her skillset quickly improved, further fueling her passion, thus receiving more opportunities to perform. At 12, the Mozarteum Music School in Salzburg, Austria, invited Fernanda to a summer program. She soon met with different piano professors and was invited to perform at multiple music festivals, including the Cremona International Music Festival in Cremona, Italy. At 13, Fernanda won an American Fine Arts Festival award which honored her with a performance at Carnegie Hall. At Georgia State University, Fernanda is one of the 2022 Brumby Concerto Competition award recipients.
