Every year, excitement builds for the much-anticipated “Honors Recital” showcasing some of the School of Music’s finest and brightest musicians and performers. For each student, the recital exemplifies years of training, hours of preparation on literature being performed, and rounds of auditions.
This 2023 Honors Recital, which took place at Kopleff Recital Hall, drew a packed house of students, faculty and guests eager to see this year’s performances. The line-up included Shelby Brooks (percussion), AnnaLauren Kelly (soprano), Arlet Tabares Martin (french horn), Ruby Tu (piano), Joseph Fisher Brosmer (trumpet), Emily Adams (soprano), Jack Lloyd (clarinet), Madie Hendrix (soprano) and FLAX Ensemble with Joycelyn Jackson (flute) and Sarah Griffin (saxophone).
Upon conclusion of the recital, College of the Arts Dean Wade Weast joined all of the performers on stage to present the Dean’s Award (with a $500 prize) to the most outstanding performer(s). This year’s award went to FLAX Ensemble with Joycelyn Jackson and Sarah Griffin.
Congratulations to all 2023 Honors Recital participants.
