On the morning of his wedding, the valet Figaro learns that his young lord, Count Almaviva, has romantic designs on his bride-to-be, the lady’s maid, Susanna. Figaro vows to prevent it, and to teach his lord a lesson. Half-baked plans, mistaken identities, and romantic intrigues lead to schooling all around. Mozart and Da Ponte’s comedy is a celebration of human love and forgiveness.
