
Olubajo Sonubi, a lecturer at Georgia State School of Film, Media & Theatre, trained and worked with prominent casting directors in the Southeast and served as the local casting director for the television series, “The Vampire Diaries” and the CW show “Containment.” Sonubi discusses his journey and what captures his attention while casting for film, theatre and commercials.
In a 2015 interview for Backstage Magazine, “Bajo — “Olubajo Sonubi is known locally, and is quickly earning a reputation as the ‘actor’s casting director’ in Atlanta, Ga., thanks to his performance background and the comfortable environment he creates at his company, OAS Casting.”
Sonubi earned an M.F.A. in Acting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Among his credits include films “Flight” and “Addicted” and television projects like HBO’s “Quarry” and CBS’s “Hail Mary”, as well as stage productions “That Uganda Play” (Essential Theater), “Lady Lay” (7 Stages), “A Thousand Circlets” (Essential Theater) and “Marcus; or the Secret of Sweet” (Actors Express).
