At any given moment, an artist never knows when creativity will strike.
Last semester, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic when all things went virtual, third-year M.F.A. painter Diane Hiscox found inspiration during the online class switchover to create the "Who's Zoomin' Who" portraiture series. According to Hiscox, critiques, classes, grad socials and advising continued online through apps like Zoom and Webex, which sparked the idea to document these banal and joyful moments of her fellow students and faculty members. The wonderfully rendered series boasts over fifty intimately scaled portraits (5" x 7" oil paint on cradled panels). Here is just a handful of these moments frozen in time.
