The School of Film, Media and Theatre Associate Professor Daniel Robin was recently invited to attend the screening of his new short experimental documentary film, Petting Zoo, in the Short Joy competition at the prestigious Ji-hlava International Documentary Film Festival in the Czech Republic. Ji-hlava IDFF has long been recognized as the largest celebration of creative documentary cinema in Central and Eastern Europe. Petting Zoo also recently screened in the Documentary Short competition at the 64th Cork International Film Festival in Ireland.
“Screening my film at Ji-hlava IDFF was, perhaps, one of the most memorable screening experiences I’ve had. The large theater was sold out, and the substantial Q&A went on for 20 minutes. The programmed films I saw, and the filmmakers I met, made me feel like I was part of something special,” says Robin.
Petting Zoo will screen in December at Analogica 9 in Bolzano, Italy, which also includes a screening tour in select international cities such as Rome, London, Paris, and San Francisco.
